Welcome to the Parliamentary Archives Catalogue (Portcullis)
Portcullis is an electronic catalogue containing descriptions of around 3 million records held by the
Parliamentary Archives.
General information about the collections we hold can be found on our web pages and a list of some of our most popular collections and
their reference numbers is available on our Collections page.
If you find anything in Portcullis which you would like to see, you can visit our search room or contact us to order
copies.
Looking for Parliamentary debates (Hansard)? Use Historic Hansard 1803-2005 - this is a test site using
historic data, sponsored by Parliament, although not part of the Parliament website.
Hansard from 1988 (Commons) and 1995 (Lords) to present day is available on the Parliamentary website.
Looking for other printed Parliamentary material (command papers, "blue books", committee reports, etc)?
These are not in Portcullis. Some published Parliamentary material has been digitised and made available on the Internet by
various organisations.
Looking for images of documents?
There are currently a very small number of these available through Portcullis. We will gradually be adding
more.
